Excellent front desk staff and quality breakfast.

Close proximity to train station - very handy!

No gym, bit stark

Check-in via the electronic kiosk was simple. My room had a comfy bed and effective soundproofing, ensuring a restful night even though located near the busy train station. The included Basel card was a nice bonus, awesome for free public transport. Breakfast options were limited but regularly replenished, and the staff's warm welcome were good. The shower pressure was weak, and I found adjusting the temperature took longer than expected. The location is perfect for train travelers, directly across from Basel Badischer Bahnhof.

Perfect hotel, the staff were all very attentive and excellent and the location was ideal to use the trams for free. We had a large room with an electric kettle and an iron. Location: the property was near public transport to euro airport, and the german train station.

The kindness and service from the reception staff. The Wi-fi systeme failed upon arrival and never was repaired, that was an annoyance.

The room was spacious and equipped with a free minibar. The breakfast selection was quite limited.

The hotel staff were very friendly, really helpful and good fun. The hotel is very close to the train station but is still very quiet. The hotel restaurant is fantastic and the service was outstanding. The hotel breakfast was delicious. Couldn't fault a thing. We will definitely be returning.

The facts without the fluff

A gem for train travelers! Conveniently located near Basel Badischer Bahnhof, with trams right outside. Reached major attractions easily. The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and even a free minibar. Not to miss, the breakfast options were limited but refreshed promptly by friendly staff.

The Welcome and very friedliness and helpfulness of the staff. The Bedoom was very comfortable and the breakfast was very good. The fruit salad was excellent, containing exotic fruit such as star fruit, gooseberries, lychees, kiwi fruit amongst other fruit. Assistant Luke went beyond his duty to give us such clear directions on which trams to take and the directions to walk that led us to have the most beautiful day of street music performers, chamber music, Mongolian, and Yiddisch Music ending with a youth Brass ensemble which turn Basel into one of our favourite cities. Have to come back to Basel and Royal Hotel.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The front desk responsible even walked to the bus station when he noted we were going to take the wrong bus.

The free minibar and alligator-shaped soaps for kids stood out in the room.

The shower pressure barely cut it, and adjusting the temperature was a hassle. I had to drink tap water after they stopped providing complimentary bottles. The air conditioning not functioning properly. Noise can be an issue from the train station, while the walls are a bit too thin for comfort.

The Hotel is good opposite the station, a free tram ticket is supplied which gets you down town very quickly. The Car park opposite is also convenient. Switzerland is just however generally very expensive !!

Really friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable and clean room and a fantastic breakfast in the morning. I will definately be recommending the hotel to others and if I ever need to stay in Basel again then I would stay at the royal hotel.
